FAQs

Fluorescent Sleeves:

Q. Are they easy to install?
A. Yes, we supply them pre-assembled and they simply slide over the fluorescent tube and are supported at both ends with the caps supplied. We can also supply them unassembled too. Simply choose a colour and we will send you a Quick Roll of gel 7.62m (25') long, pre-cut to fit the sleeve size you require. We also supply you with the clear polycarbonate sleeves, cut to your chosen length along with a set of end caps. You then assemble the inserts and sleeves yourself. If you wish to replace or change the colour in an existing sleeve, all you need is a Quick Roll of the new colour. Just let us know what size tube you would like the roll pre-cut to i.e. T5, T8 or T12 tube size.

Q. What colours are available?
A. You can choose from over 200 colours available in our colour range.

Q. Will they fit any size fluorescent tube?
A. We can supply all lengths for T5, T8 & T12 diameter tubes.

Q. Can I use these sleeves on the higher wattage fluorescent tubes?
A. We do not recommend their use on the T5 high Output 54W and 80W tubes as they get very hot.

Q. How long will the colour sleeves last?
A. This depends on many factors, including how long the fluorescent tubes are switched on for at any one time and the colour chosen, etc. Due to the bright colorants used in the manufacture of the sleeves, fading will occur eventually, and hence cannot be considered as a permanent installation that will last the lifetime of the tube but replacement colour inserts in the form of a cost effective Quick Roll are normally available from stock.

Q. Is the colour easily replaced?
A. Yes, we can supply a Quick Roll in any one of our hundreds of colours pre-cut to the required widths for T5, T8 and T12 sleeves. Each Quick Roll is 7.62m (25') in length enabling several replacement filter inserts. The exact number is dependant upon the length of the fluorescent tube.
